Sugitha Sureshkumar MD, MSc, PhD
Sugitha Sureshkumar is a program evaluation and a global health expert. With a strong academic background and extensive experience, she has made significant contributions to the field.
After a career in medicine practicing as a paediatric and emergency doctor, Sugitha earned her Masters and Doctorate in Public Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and the University of Geneva, respectively. She embarked on a successful career in academia and research spending 8 years the Institute of Global Health in Geneva and at University College London. Notably, she served as project Director of multinational studies on non-communicable diseases and health systems, as well as those related to health, gender equality, and education in the Sustainable Development Goals. Her academic work has seen her collaborate with renowned institutions on every continent, growing networks with research groups and civil societies.
Her work with international organizations in the UN system, as well as non-governmental organizations in the Pacific, Asia, Africa, and Europe, has cultivated her expertise in international development, humanitarian project design, and evaluation. The efficiencies in executing projects and programmes to improve livelihoods globally has been and continues to be her primary drive.
Sugitha authored literature on public health issues, project design methodology, and systems approaches. She has also made notable contributions to various books and journals.
Andrew Okello, PGDME, MPHME
Andrew Okello is a seasoned evaluator with 12 years of experience in program design and evaluation across public health, education, gender, international trade, agriculture, and livelihoods. With a background in Quantitative Economics from Makerere University, Andrew combines a strong foundation in economic analysis with advanced expertise in public health (MPH Monitoring and Evaluation) to lead evidence-based evaluations and robust quantitative research. He holds a Master’s of Public Health Monitoring and Evaluation from Makerere University, Kampala, Uganda, and is skilled in advanced quantitative and qualitative analysis using SPSS, STATA, R, NVivo, ATLAS.ti, and Dedoose.
Andrew’s expertise includes conducting complex multi-country evaluations in HIV/AIDS, sexual and reproductive health, WASH, resilience, and agribusiness. He has developed and implemented rigorous evaluation frameworks that ensure data accuracy, reliability, and sustainability across multiple contexts. His culturally adaptive approach has been pivotal in delivering insights that drive program success and long-term impact.
As a technical lead and evaluator for large-scale evaluations funded by USAID, DFID, BMK, AfDB, and other international NGOs and UN agencies, Andrew’s work has spanned Sub-Saharan Africa and Asia, impacting countries like Uganda, Kenya, South Sudan, Tanzania, Zambia, Thailand, Cambodia, and Indonesia. Known for his strategic, data-driven approach, he brings a depth of field experience that ensures evaluations are both culturally sensitive and aligned with global best practices, translating findings into actionable, sustainable improvements.
Eliana Gutierrez-Amo MBA, MPH
Eliana is a seasoned tri-lingual expert in public health and gender, fluent in Spanish, English, and French. She brings over 15 years of expertise in global health and gender equality. Eliana boasts a proven track record in strategic thinking, project design, and adept management in challenging environments. Her proficiency extends to quantitative and qualitative analysis, facilitating well-informed decision-making.
Her adept communication skills, both written and verbal, enable her to convey complex findings effectively to diverse audiences. Eliana’s robust project management capabilities ensure the success of evaluations within specified timelines. She has served as a researcher, analyst and evaluator for both governmental and non-governmental organisations. Her consultancy work includes contributions to the evaluation of projects and programmes for organisations such as the World Food Programme, FAO, UNDP, and UNICEF, in different critical areas such as gender, poverty, education, youth empowerment and inclusion, reproductive health, HIV/AIDS, drug abuse, youth employment, GBV, domestic violence, child rights, inclusive education, vocational training, and school dropouts.
Recently, she completed a financial inclusion review for the SheCan pilot project with the World Food Programme, emphasizing financial access for women, youth, and people with disabilities.
